  • A full-time librarian works closely with faculty to connect curriculum to weekly library visits and encourage
    enthusiasm for reading.

  • Full-time (credentialed teacher) specialist works closely with staff to reinforce instructional best practices that meet the individual learning needs of students.

  • Full-time Social Worker collaborates with administration, teachers, and families to support academic achievement through counseling services, conflict management, and mentoring.

  • Two credentialed physical education coordinators come in (for a total of 4 overlapping days) to work with staff to ensure that students are engaged in fun activities and sports designed to cultivate fitness and health.

  • Helps students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) designating services in speech and language therapy and supporting students to develop communication skills.

  • Two full-time special education teachers with two assistants (paraprofessionals) working with students with IEPs needing targeted instructional support.

  • Internships at Rosa Parks include counseling interns, social work interns and an Americorp intern.Interns who work with students and assist with counseling services and conflict management under the aegis of the SSW/LSP.

  • San Francisco Education Fund and educational/community based organizations bring adult and high school/college students from a number of San Francisco institutions as well as volunteers from Experience Corps and Reading Partners into our classrooms to enhance instruction. Students from Japanese universities assist in JBBP classrooms through a coordinated homestay program. Alumni volunteer in the office, in classrooms, and at events such as the Back to School BBQ and Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival).

  • Coordinates services to assist students with Behavioral Response to Intervention (RTI), works with students on attendance and issues related to student success.
